A strange one but i'm trying to work out what master cylinder i need for my 93 classic.its got abs sensors + the wabco control module under the passengers seat but deffinatly has not got operational abs or the modulator/pump fitted.however none of the pipes ect look to have ever been or changed/modified.What i'm wondering is did they fit the sensors + control module to all vehicles or could mine have had the abs removed at some stage?

Thanks James, that makes it more interesting as mine is nothing like that.I'll need to try and identify mine by the looks of things:doh:

This is the type fitted, not sure how good the pic is as i can't get a bigger one uploaded for some reason.

Thats a servo system. Not ABS.
ABS was standard fitment on all EFi SE models after 1989. So I'd say if you have this model it has been retro fitted by a previous owner.

According to my range rover history book , ABS was fitted as standard to Vogue , SE Vogue and LSE in 1993. Though on the web site ; Range Rover 1990's - Range Rover Classic , it states that ABS was only standard on SE Vogue and Vogue LSE, and as an option on Vogue Tdi ,Vogue manual and Vogue Auto.

Having recently aquired a Vogue LSE I dashed into the snow landscape on M&S tires for Christmas without having examined the vehicle to more than a limited extent. I was going to boast to parents and brother "see how the Range handles traction" and it spun like a helpless heavy colossus on the snowy parking lot to their bewildered amusement/fear. I found no ABS and stability control to assist. I began to wonder if the vehicle had this stuff at all but checking out the RAVE manual, looking under the hood and LH seat revealed the stuff is all there, only not working. Something to sort out one I have crawled back 500 kms into civilisation.

Thats not ABS, a lot of people just put Classics back to regular brakes once the ABS system goes wonky, as its a pretty simple job and Classic ABS parts are stupid expensive, atleast here in the Dubai. Close to 2000 GBP just for the booster !
