It's bad enough i have a cassette player in my 2002 model

Catering for the older generation I guess, but to be fair in 2002 most cars were fitted with tape still I think from memory?
I actually work for an Audio manufacturer - I still sell Tape product now!

Really? Earlier cars i've had from 98 onwards all had CD players?

I just bought a 97 4.6 that is supposed to be an Autobiography. Havent actually seen the car yet as its being trucked out to Bg. Thing is, I dont see much difference between this car and a standard HSE.
Paint colour maybe and the white coachline. The person I bought it from has documentation confirming that it is the real deal...So, does a HSE become an Autobiography if it was painted a non standard colour?
Im not really bothered as Im happy enough with an HSE...but interested in what you think. Its on lpg and has some probs but was cheap.

Ebay item 281512600477 so you can see what I mean. I paid well below asking price and expect problems! Cheers

Nope mine is diesel made mid 1998 registered 1999 and has a cassette player. It also has all the wood trim, sat nav, premium radio, but not the wooden steering wheel.

All P38's have cassette players. Mine has the premium system shared with the westminster but still find it strange to keep with the cassette players, especially with all the other gadgets in mine which at the time were quite advanced....still are compared with some makes of 4x4.

I meant a cassete player in the head unit. It also has a cd player in the boot. I may have misunderstood the poster meaning. :);)

Range Rover - The Second Generation by James Taylor....

Good book with lots of useful model information, builds, specs etc....will clear up quite a bit of confusion....

What does cause confusion is over the years, they will get chopped and changed....owners putting stickers and decals on it there aren't meant to be etc....

Autobiography models aren't worth more than any other P38.....just means the first owner wanted something a bit different from the rest....nothing special.

Now a genuine limited edition P38, depending on which one could be worth a bit more but do your research.....

Saw the SV paperwork......Painted . British racing green.. including mirrors, sills and bumpers.....beige coachline....Lightstone beige leather with Lincoln green piping,
Thats it...HSE really?

Dragging up old threads again, but looked at a 97 diesel last night, and been doing some digging. on slam panel has the special vehicles badge, autobiography sticker on dash, didn't check of real wood or not. No badges at all on tailgate. could it be genuine? Think the sill finishers just said range rover, and quick run of plate on insurance site says dse. Called land rover, and they can't tell me either. Any ideas?

Email the Special Vehicles people with a photograph of the plate, and include the VIN. [email protected]

A guy called Mick responded to me with all the codes for the options requested by the LR Dealer that sold mine.

Cheers. Will try get up there in daylight have a propper look over it, and get better pic of the plate. Suppose not that off that the supplying dealer doesn't have info from 20 years ago on its systems

Dealer probably wont have info, but LRSV have an old computer with all the records. Printouts look this this :
