Hi all!
First proper post on here.
I have a 1995 Range Rover 4.6 HSE with an LPG conversion, had it under a week.
It has been running fine apart from the last couple of days.
The other night the main air intake pipe which also supplies the lpg came off the main block, guessing it had been bodged on with sealent before and the bolts were weak.
I had it bolted back in tight so it wouldnt come off again. But ever since then it cuts out when idling, its fine when its on lpg in park but any other gear, even neutral it just drops below 500rpm and cuts out?
It does have an aftermarket air filter, not sure if that affects it but im going to put it back to standard when i can source one.
It runs sweet as a nut on petrol but like i said cuts out on idle whilst running on gas and sometimes when i accelerate it lacks power and the builds up and kicks back in?

Anyone else experienced this or can give me any advice?

Thanks!

Marc

Sorry im not sure, im quite new to this LPG business..
I have the reciepts for the installation which was from a previous owner back in July 2000, its a Landi Gas system but doesnt state which model..

A single point system uses a single ring inline with the intake ducting and introduces gas into the air intake...

A multipoint system uses individual injectors to inject the gas into the cylinders intake directly.

If it is single point and it is running poo....I'd say you may have a split intake ducting some where and this is introducing unneeded air into the intake leaning and weakening the gas that is injected....

Have a good look around and see if you can spot a leak, split or loose part

Doubtful, as the filter is first in the system and shouldn't affect the running....

Check the ducting carefully as splits can sometimes be hard to spot....

I had similar issues with my 3.9 Classic with Single Point system...it backfired and split the ducting on the underside!!

but surly it would run poooooh on petrol too..

running too weak..adjust the power valve...ie open it abit,,its the tap thingy inline withthe gas flow..assuming its adjustable and not eco controlled..

ALSO..no EFI v8 should now be running single point..its ****!
save up and buy multipoint injection front end..sooooo much better.

isit like a bolt with a spring underneath on the pipe? so if i loosen that it should release more gas?

Also to get the multipoint injection would i have to replace the full system??
