L322 Rain sensor

Is there any information about the rain sensors, my wipers works fine at all settings except the auto, seem like the rain sensor is not working, dare I ask if it's an easy fix??
Anyone had problems.
I have a 2011 vouge D 4.4 digital dash, but the wiper controls seem the same as my 2007 vogue.

Another useless piece of unreliable tech. The Mk1 eyeball is the best rain sensor there is.

Come on be reasonable. He would have to stop texting to switch them on. Much more convenient if they are automatic.
