Hi,
im after some advice, I own a Discovery 300 Tdi (N Reg), aboout 6 months ago the rear offside (drivers) radius arm snaped going over a speed bump, i changed the radius arm and the rear shocks as the top shock bush had about 1 inch play (the same side as the broken radius arm) so i thought thats why the arm had snaped (stress), however its just snaped again (no speed bumps this time).
i also noticed that the Landrover sat lower on the offside rear and was going to change the springs in the summer but now i am wondering if this could be what caused the radius arm to snap again (stress)
i have ordered 2x rear spring (standard) and a new radius arm.
I dont use the Landrover off road at all.
Any help/advice would be welcomed.
Thanks
Mark

mine snapped just rolling down the road ,no warning ,no reason, held the axle steady with rope to get it home [200yds] ,stripped it down, welded it up put back together ,all ok....as for why it snapped ive no idea it was the wifes motor so it had no abuse, not like mine lol..tried to get a spare one ,i was told theres loads of different ones mate ,hence welding it up ......dave

Thanks Dave, i ordered a new radius arm from foundry 4x4 its looks the same , gave him my vin number so i hope its right??

we had this on ours, only it was the bracket that snapped off on the rear axle. The top bush also has alot play in it. Did you find it twitchy on the back end jusy before it snapped, as ours was really bad with it.

My cousin's broke last sunday, when we got the broken one off you could see the clean bit (the last straw that'd still been attached) was only the bottom 1/3...

He fitted new arms and bushes both sides, but has kept hold of the broken and old ones, I'm going to reweld them and try and find either some pipe to slide over or some angle to brace the side (or both) and make some Extra Heavy duty ones!

As standard, the welding looks ****e!
