Hello,

Have had an advisory for front Radius Arm bushes on the MoT and want to get them sorted. Figure it will help "tighten" the feel of the front end a bit.

I know there are lists of posts on here around Poly-bush etc and in particular not recommending the cotton reel shaped bushes.

Genuine are about £20 each but i've now seen a set of 6 bushes for the front by Bearmach for £50.

Can anyone advise if they've had any experiences with these good or bad or should I really be looking genuine LR all the way on these?

2001 TD5 :)

Many thanks

That's unusual to have an advisory on these, mine have done 165k miles and yet to elicit a murmur out of our local guy.

I'd always go genuine if possible, Polybush I am not a big fan on, having seen them disintegrate on my son's Series III.

I'd have a look at yours and establish that there is pending failure.

You'll need a decent press to get the old ones out and new ones in.

If you can get a loan pair of arms to keep you on the road, that's handy too. We have a pair or two but a bit far away from you.

I've done a few sets of radius arm to axle bushes I use a hammer thru screwdriver or parallel pin punch, to bend the outer face of the bush in on it'self. Never failed once and never taken more than a couple of minutes to get them out. Big nut and bolt to get the new ones in. Always use OEM or genuine. never polybushes.

Yes have had a look and think they are certainly going to need doing... when you did the arm to axle did you replace the 2 arm to chassis at the same time?

Don't want to create extra work but if the arms are coming off anyhow, just figured it would be worthwhile. Hence the reasoning of seeing all bushes in the Bearmach kit.
