Hi Everyone

I need some advise as to what could be the cause of my Radio to just stop working, it will not turn on?, the sat nav, and monitor, TV, etc all work but the radio has just stopped? i have a 2003 Range Rover Vogue.
Not sure if this is related but just before this problem occured i filled up and the car, and it would not start initialy, so left it tunned on for about 5 minuets, and it then started up ok, but no radio? will not turn on at all no light to indicated its on, but as i said everything else is ok.
Any help or advise would be very much appreciated.
All the best Boysie.

Its more than likley that yer Sat Nav has Blown up the radio WILL NOT WORK if it "THINKS" the Sat Nav is "Giving Directions" (It aint Cheap is this)

Sorry Boysie, to be the bearer of bad news

Welcome to the site cant help with your problem but my radio doesnt work at all at the moment but thats because its on my kitchen table - hope you get it sorted - cheaply

there is a small microfuse on the rear of the radio module, if this has blown you wont get any audio, the radio module is a pre amp for all audio in the car.

Matt

My 2000 P38 is playing games with the audio all was fine then nothing for a week although you could hear the sub woofer in the back. Driving along and it all came back on all ok then the next day nothing again and then an hour later all fine. But now nothing again for the past 2 days. Any Ideas anyone?

Bad connections somewhere.
Might help if you introduced yourself and gave us an idea of what system is in the car.
Starting you own thread would also be a good idea rather than resurrecting an old one.

Thanks Datatek,

I am a P38 2000 Vouge 4.6 driver currently living in the Ukraine. My Rover is a RHD UK model.
I am guessing a bad connection. I have the factory fitted Harmon Kardon sound system. I at first thought it might be the same problem a lot of people have and that the Amp packed up but with the off and on thing guess its not. I also pulled out the radio cassette unit and checked the back and all was ok so maybe the connection buried somwhere in the back with the amp is to blame.

Loss of audio can also be caused if a previous owner has fitted a hands-free kit but then it hasn't been fully removed and is causing the audio to be muted.

I saw something but can't remember where so appologies for whoever had this info. I wrote this down. It was to do with RE: Lost comp sat nav and audio.

for 2003/05 models there is a self Check via the hidden Menu.
Ignition Key must be 'off'
Press and hold the Check Control button in the instrument cluster (RIGHT button), and turn the ignition key to the first position (KLR).

You will first see 'Check Control OK', some seconds later you will see 'Test Nr.01' Push the left button on the instrument cluster to see the car's identification number. Add the 5 digits (not 6) together and write down the that number, you will need it for unlocking all the functions.
Example: A123457 will lead to 2+3+4+5+7 = 21
Push the right button until you see 'Test Nr.19'
Push left button until you see the number that is equal to the one you calculated above.
Push the right button again.

You can now go through 20 different data

1. Display Car's identification number, HW/SW version, construction date
2. instrument cluster self test. Will light up all lights and run all guages
3. Current consumption (litres/hour)
4. Average consumption (litres/100km)
5. Current range
6. Remaining fuel in tank, Three sets of numbers: A?B?C. C=total amount
7. Engine RPM/Coolant Temp (C)
8. Current Speed (kph)
9. System voltage at TERM. 'R' (battery Voltage)
10. Country/Language (UK, US, Spa, Ger, Jap, etc)
11. Units am/pm
12. Average Speed
13. ETA
14. Date of Software Mask
15. Production Diagnosis
16. ""
17. Display Vehicle Specific Data
18. Alarm Changeover (cont. vs intrmittent OBC chime)
19. Lock/Unlock
20. Correction factor for fuel consumption (nicht andern!)
21. Reset all defect codes

The last 21 is Reset all defect codes. Hopefull your radio and sat nav will work.
Never tried this so its up to you>

All good except he's talking P38 not L322:)

To Datatek. I had assumed that the original post by Boysie on this thread was an L322 as:

Gunnershavesome with his 2000 4.6 Vogue seems to have hijacked it

Hi all,

Sorry didn't mean to hijack anything I was just after some advice and Datatek was correct earlier I should have started a new thread. So schoolboy error on my part and showing my naivety at this.

However no sound today except from the subwoofer. so i guess i am going to have to dig out the amp. Any advice on the best way after pulling out the Sub and CD unit?

Once those two out then remove the sound deadening and you will find the amp in the inner wing (three nuts if I remember) make a note of the model number. When putting back replace the plastic sheet that is supposed to protect it from water (especially from power washers)! and be careful not to knock off the left side aerial for the radio (one on each side of the car) or reception will be poor
