Radio Code
 hello all. hope someone will be able to offer me some advise that will do the trick!
i have a rangerover P38 with a factory fitted AMR2672 / PU-9887A DIVERSITY RADIO / CASSETTE / AND CD PLAYER. that will not let the code in. according to the rangerover hand book of entering it.. but having said that the one they show you in the handbook is a different model to the one i hace fitted but it is a factory fitted radio as earlier discribed. i have checked the code information from the main dealer from there computor security information for that registration mark.so the code is right. the book says to wait for code in then say the code is 1645 to pressthe presellect button 1 first then use the manual tuner up and down untill the display shows the first didgit 1 and then to set each ofther number the same way but to press the preset button for each number to comfirm it untill they are all in then the radio is suspose to bleep then except the code. but what is happening is. you press number one pre sellect button to start the process to allow you to use the manual tuner up & down control to reach the code didgit. but as soon as you press the number 1 pre sellect button it enters nuber 1 traite away anyway and wont bring any didgits up with the manual tuner control. so i have just used the pre sellect buttons to enter the code pressing the mode in at the same time or the other buttons buy the mode button but the code numbers / didgits just sits there on the display. so i am wondering if there is a different way of entering the code for this model radio. so can anyone help befor i give it a big f---ing scotch kiss goodby ! :flame2:

This is a common problem, apparently the thing to do is to leave the ignition and radio on for 90 minutes before trying to put the code in. Then it should all work OK.

My guess is that if the battery has been disconnected for a while, the radio powers up in "invalid code just entered" mode which means that you have to wait for an hour before giving it another try.

many thanks for the reply. but it does just come up with code in. in the display. i use the short cut from waiting all that time buy switching the ignition to position 1 then removing number 1 and number 8 fuse then replace them and give it 1 hour and the code in comes up ps you must have the radio switched on all the time.saves hours if you make a muck up of it. anyway thanks again. regards !

i posted on yr other fred!!! i would check the code you have is for the radio rather than for the car's chasis number, LR have a habit of recording everything to the chasis number and forgetting that things don't last forever!!!

If you are having trouble, drop me a line (see my profile). Have you tried holding the band button in ?

If your code is 1456, press preset 1, then 4,5 and finally 6, it then springs into life, no need to press anything. I just realised my profile doesnt say that i run the Clarion service centre !!

dave, you run a service centre for the very radio he needs advice on!!!!

not rocket science is it????

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi dave again got radio sorted recoded works great sounds great except the CD sometimes misses a beat then repeats abit . can this do any damage to the CD player i.e the laser or anythink. cheers dave let me know if you have any idears. pete.

Hi Davie,

I am having the exact same issue with the exact same radio.

I have learned about the BND trick ... thank you.

However, no matter what I do, my 4564 code is not accepted. It takes me back to the ---- lines.

My serial number is: CR0195S0009096

Any advice?

Thank you in advance,
Eric

Help would be much appreciated.

I do not mind purchasing a different system if needed or paying for a solution.

Again, thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Eric
