I had the rad and inter cooler out of my 300tdi defender last week. On putting it all back together I have an issue with the top oil pipe into the rad fouling on the bonnet stay mounting bracket. I've obviously got something out of alignment. Where should the pipe be in relation to the bracket? Thanks

Thanks for the pics. Yours looks like the pipe is below the stop for the bonnet stay. I've tried loosening the nuts on the pipes and I have twisted them as much as they go (right up to the timing case) but it's still jammed against the prong on the bonnet stay.

Not clear on the pic but my pipe is just touching the prong. I never noticed it before so i will have to put something between them to stop it vibrating and wearing through.

I thought 300's had the stay that just clips up under the bonnet, not the folding type like series and 90 110.

If you slacken the brackets on the top mount, is it possible to move the rad towards the passenger side slightly?
^^ That was going to be my suggestion.
From you pic I can see the rad has lots of adjustment in the slotted mouting bracket can the whole rad frame be moved over? Or alternatively can the bonnet mounting bracket be moved slightly to achieve the same thing?

There are two locating pins at the bottom so very little if any sideways adjustment.
Everything on a land rover has adjustment. Solihul's tolerances were that's near enough that will do! The fact that is the same rad and frame indicates to me that previously it possibley was sitting further over.
