gotta fit the new eleccy fan to me 90..

the qs is does the fan have to be right against the rad or a gap left?

someone has suggested using cable ties thru the rad to fit the fan is this correct or how is best to fit the fan?...ta

I used cable ties for mine, it has 4 mounting holes, one on each corner though - works perfectly with no vibration or anything.
 
cable ties, really? I was scratching me head earlier today on how to fit this Toledo twin fan set up with brackets n such, nice that it's that simple ;)

Aye, make sure you put the ties over the strong parts of the rad not the thin fins - they will crush them and come loose. Basically, tie your ties vertically and not horizontally ;)
 
Or use long thin bolts and washers through the radiator fins and dont tighten them up so they start to crush things. Thats how the air con fan is normally mounted.
My leccy fan is mounted to the slam panel strengthening frame so is completely independent from the rad.
