Hi all. I’ve rebuilt my gear box due to the nut on the lay shaft coming loose and smashing 5th gear to pieces. I brought another box that came out of an old discovery that the spline had stripped off of the main shaft and took fifth gear and the aluminium casing off of that gear box to fit in mine. When I came to build it all back up I realised that the gear that came off the discovery box didn’t have a counter sunk washer on like the one that came off of mine. Would this be okay to use?

thanks for the quick reply. Does it matter what layshaft I use? I’ve pressed all the bearings onto the shaft meant for the gear with a washer. The nut tightens up the same so I think it will be okay
