Found that my 90 RRC 3.9 EFI seems to have little or no gas in the Aircon system.... took it to ATS and they could not even connect up to it as it has the R12 connectors...

So I just need to sort out my options...

1. Leave it be and just never set it to Large Snowflake and forget about it.
2. Buy one of those kits for about £48 to top it up.
3. Find a local specialist who can adivse on changing the gas + hardware changes if any...+ system check seals etc...
4. Find a dodgy specialist who will top up R12.

Any advice ? West Midlands based.

you can but should not put standard rerigerent in it..you need to use r12 replacement stuff..it aint the stuff kwik fit etc will have.

need a specialist..if you use standard stuff it will leak though the pipes themselves..the molecules are smaller..it fecks the old r12 pipes..

All done last night.... there was a little bit of gas in there which he vac'd out. Then UV Dye in and 1100gm of RS24 (replacement drop in for R12). All working fine which is a bonus.... Can even watch the green gas flow thorugh the viewing point. If it drops or stops then he will then put the UV on it to see if we can spot any leaks for no charge.
