Quick tire question

I have had a quick search of the forum and cant quite find the answer to my question.

Looking to change tyres on my freelander to 225-75-16, can anyone let me know if these will fit many thanks in advance.

Asked my mate who's into these things, he looked at mine and said the tyres will go on but probably rub on bumpy ground and on full lock.
Sorry couldnt get a definate answer. Might be worth trying to buy an old worn set, putting them on and see what happens
