My power fold mirrors have both stopped working. They are currently folded in. My question is: can I manually fold them back out into position or will this cause any internal damage? Thought it better to ask before attempting!

Keen to have the mirrors useable whilst I investigate why they have stopped working. They are still heating and tilt etc, just wont fold back out.

I have had a search but cannot find the right answer.

Thanks in advance

No problem in just pushing them back into position.

Give them a wiggle around and then try the switch again.

I've often had mine knocked in car-parks and such and they stop working until they have been reset.

Unusual for both to stop at once though.

SV.

Mirrors are now back in the correct position, after using the switch which started working again.

Went to fold them in today and again they are not working correctly. After several attempts the mirrors folded in and back out again but is very intermittent. When i flick the switch the relay appears to be clicking even though there is no movement of mirrors. I am starting to think either a knackered switch or a knackered relay? Any thoughts?

I am assume that switch or relay are not overly expensive parts so might replace anyway as a starting point. Does anyone know part numbers at all?

Mine do this, they work as advertised for so long and then just randomly pack up with either one or both mirrors stuck in or out. Then next day or later the same day, working again…

No logic to it all, intermittent faults are the worst kind:confused:

I know it doesn't really help you, but at least you're not alone.

I guess I'll just put it down as being another one of the Freelanders gremlins, of which there seems to be lots!

Says in the description that they are Lucas, which is an OE supplier. Probably why they fitted ok…

Dread to think how much they are from LR!
