questions about milege consumtion from tyres

hi folks


i have a landrover defender td5 which i use for my job as a forester, i had the standard tyres (205/80/r16 i think), but desided to replace them with bigger tyres, i put on 234/85 r16 tyres and my fuel consumpion has gone through the roof....can anyone tell me what the best type of tyre would be best to replace it with as it was a second hand pair i bought, it looks like the tread is between all terrain and mud tyres,

i just want big tyres to get me through fiends and not be large on the old fuel bill

Should be the opposite as bigger tyres makes it geared for higher top speed at the same revs? I don't understand why.

Easy... Noticed your millage going up aswell alot?

That is because when you fit bigger tyres your speedo thinks you are going faster and traveling further.....

Nay that's wrong. Bigger tyres will cause the speedo and odometer to read slower.

Oh yeah .. Anyone else got any ideas?

lol i do bill the customer... guess it's going up, and i did run it on bio, the trouble is finding the stuff in the first place

get a V8 and run it on white lightning,ya have to shake the fizz out first.

on a more serious note im running heavy mt tyres on a V8 and cos its on gas its way cheaper to run than any doisel boxx4x4xfar

Well cock jockey, my first point is there aint a tred pattern between at n muds, my second point is you are are sarky little slag, my third and quite new point is you asked the question, I answered, wot more do you want?Your village called they want their arse bandit back, i told them they can have yer, didnt want yer in the first place, coming round here asking stopid questions.....:doh:
