Question: What was original rim and tyre size?

Hi All

I was wondering what the original rim and tyre size would have been for a South African spec 1979 Series III 88" diesel soft top (assuming it was originally a diesel and a soft top!).

I would also be interested to know what other rims and tyres were fitted to Series vehicles. Any info will be appreciated.

I think the original tyres would have been 6.00/16 mounted on 5in rims as standard or 7.50/16 mounted on 5.5 in rims as an option.

Thanks. Someone else has mentioned that the workshop manual states the tyres as the same size. No info on the rims though. Hoping the Series I want to buy has the 5.5 rims with 7.50/16 tyres. Will have to wait and see.
