Sorry Insurance (again) I am with RH right now, obviously its gone up again (when doesn't it?) they are asking for £127 full comp for a 58 Series II with £300 excess, is that about right? and can I get it cheaper?

Advice please (but not Sorn I use It ) Ta mucho

I managed to get one for £95 fully comp £50 excess, with all the bells and whistles, through a broker (so he has the hassle if it goes wrong) very happy with that, if anyone wants a link to it just say... thanks for the help

Depends on your post code. With some it will be cheaper, with some dearer. There is no standard and it’s mostly made up, especially when going through an agent who don’t actually own insurance, they just sell you a policy and take a cut.

If that is for agreed value, I would say it is a good enough deal.

If it isn't, I would look into agreeing a value. Replacing a vehicle like that isn't cheap now, although you may have only paid a few quid for it years ago.

Its for 5k, I think I under priced it, it has a lot of upgrades, like a stainless steel tank, aluminium rocky mountain door tops, and other stuff, like hard top with a a very good almost perfect tailgate, I should have said 7K

Our 2a is agreed at 11k, with an excess of 500 quid, I think.
It is very original, and we had to send off pics and receipts for work we have done.
Premium is about what you said, think it might be 128 quid without looking out the paperwork.

I don't know how much my 2A is worth anymore :( seems to be a lot of variation in prices last time i looked
Yea I guess they are worth what ppl are willing to pay for them, like most cars, but this one was a ground up refurb, what needed doing got done, I even put heated front window glass on it, G90 tyres and wolf rims, wolf alternator (kept the dynamo in case I wanted to put it back on, come summer going to put power steering on it

I don't know either. But I find the price guide in the back of LRO magazine is surprisingly close to what I see offered for sale.
And there are not many decent ones coming up for sale now, the ones that are 3-5k look like real dogs on the adverts.

Mine was a ground up resto too, I'm the second owner if that matters and it's all original apart from the rest 1/4 chassis and engine block, still on a dynamo. Needs work to bring up to decent condition now though, nothing too major though. The worst is ally rot on the back edge of the tub which i don't know how to fix

You can take it apart and put mastic or plastic sheet between the steel frames and the alloy, and then rub down and repaint the outside.
I think there are guides on the forum to how to do this, although I don't know where.

Most alloy panels for these are available new again now, not sure about tubs.

Best to get an old tub same as yours, then fix that up off the landy, will be easy off the landy, then swap, fix yours up, sell it off or swap it back and sell the other one

It's more than a rub down, there's bits totally rotted away so there's nothing to bolt it down to the rear cross member

Check the conditions for the valued bit/clause, some companies insist it is covered/garaged or parked off the road.
Being a 58 in decent nick, says to me it has to have an agreed value of 10k minimum.
