Usually starts fine from cold or hot but when she is a wee bit warm is a pig to start. Sometimes starts fine from warm, other times doesnt. Plenty fuel pressure, all lights in dash go out. Rev counter works. In old days I would say was the mixture but this is all electronic stuff and have no idea why it should suddenly ish go wrong. A while back Nanocom said faulty CPS but that cleared itself somehow. Can CPS have an intermittent fault?
Thank you for any guidance

It is hard to get to but i could spray with brake cleaner. thank you Mark
Not tried the connectors as I am always scared of disturbing very old wiring but yes I think its time to bite the bullet. Soldering iron at the ready thanks Alan
Will let you both know

Had to get recovered as alternator packed in.
Changed CPS and the old one was bent so may have been dodgy connection.
New one fitted will see if that has worked once the new alternator is on

Car back and the CPS changed
New alternator
What a difference, she starts much quicker now. Not just the battery fully charged but engine responds much better. Reckon bent CPS was due to a set pin flying out the flywheel and rattling round bellhousing last year
So far so good
