Posting here as reference for anyone who isn't sure. From 99 and on the thermostat starts to open at around 85c±5 and isn't fully open until 96c. From RAVE

Yes this coincides with the intro of the Thor engine manageent system and the ever increasingly tight emissions regulations, to make it more efficient they made it run hotter..
The biggest killer of the RV8 isn't necessarily the cooling system it's more incorrect fueling that causes liner issues..
