Hey all,

I have a 1985 B reg Land rover 90. The front has a 110 sticker and the tub has galvanised end caps. The fenders seem to be newer because they have the side markers. The bulkhead seems very new (zero rust). The front wind screen is also not the fold down type lik my 1986 (c reg). The interior (dash) is digital but the trans and engine have been changed so they dont work. can someone tell me when they started putting power windows (doors) and non folding front wind screen in the Land Rover? It looks like the bulkhead and accessories are from a newer Landy and the rest are standard bolt on accessories are from an older Land rover 90 or 110. Should i be looking far any other numbers (looks like brand new chassis and I cant locate a stamp on the off side in front of the wheel). the chassis plate is B reg 1985 I think. The engine and trans is changed but might be from a disco because the shifter is behind the dif lock (I will have to take another look). Looks like a Frankin-Landy, I think that is what I will call her cuz she is ugly. Thank you for any thoughts.

Thanks, Doug

Ringer, do the chassis numbers tally on chassis and body,
looking on inside of chassis near transmission brake brum has date stamp on 110- what does yours say if you can see it.

Yea, I think Bitsa sounds better (cool old video). Sorry for the Fanatic, the truck is a Land Rover 90 but the sticker on the grill says Land Rover 110 so that is why it is funny to me. The guy before me didnt remove the sticker (decal). Just a 90 fram that looks new (brand new). If you buy a new from factory (not maited to vehicle during assembly) or richards chassis, is there a stamp on it somewhere that would indicate a replaced chassis? I bought the Land for a good price because of the bulkhead and some of the accessories without an MOT. The plan is to carry on the bitsa tradition and take what I want and sell off the rest. It is a bit too much for me to try and figure the MOT failures.

Thanks again,
Doug

Does it even have a V5?  :D

yes it has a V5 and it is a B reg 1985ish if I did the conversion right. I think as the truck bacame older and started to rot things were changed to keep it going. I guess the nice thing is that old 90s/110s and fairly newer Defenders can share a lot of the same parts. Makes shopping around for parts easier. The bulkhead, bumper, winch, wings, rock sliders and seat box are the only parts I think I am going to keep. The rest I might sell localy but not sure, I will let you know.

Thanks,
Doug
