Putting vented discs/calipers on non vented axles

Hey i have recently purchased a set of 1996 discovery 1 24 spline axles, they have solid discs on and then calipers to match but i would like vented grooved and drilled discs, is this just a simple swap of calipers or impossibe?

I don't no why some body would want drilled and grooved discs on a landie.when your off road if you got mud or grit in 1 ov them holes surely it wudnt take long to ruin the pads or disc?I'd just go for normal discs then ebc green pads

Just take drilled non ventilated ones, reduces brake fade and only costs you new discs and not calipers on top.

Although if you are having difficulty finding vented calipers that are any good S/H try looking for the kit to make standard calipers vented ones.

or do what I did, as I wanted vented discs and went down the route of switching the setup to defender 130 vented discs and calipers as the claipers are larger so bigger pads

I followed Stu's advice, went for the defender 130 calipers (i got vented and crossdrilled discs purely because they were cheaper than anything else) and although it took about 4 goes at bleeding they're now bedded in and the difference is jaw dropping. Pedal feel is much improved, travel is reduced by 4x what it was and I can easily lock the wheels on 33" mud terrains. Go for it.

My garage told me other day 130 calipers wouldnt fit so i passed the offer on some and started buying disco brakes

I have a brand new set of front calipers the twin feed type if they is any good to you. Solid disc though, I believe.

Plus just buying new calipers anyway as mine look abit old and cba putting them on and finding out they dont and changing anyway

No im looking for vented mate cheers anyway, these calipers where off an 04 130 rest of the world with a 300tdi insted of the td5 it should have

rear 110 calipers if from salisbury axle wont fit 90 or disco ,fronts all interchange

5 x Front Brake Caliper Bolt Metric (Double Hex) - Part No FTC3375 - £2.15

Total £161.27 plus VAT £32.25 = £193.52 (plus free delivery)

Might help with ideas of what you can do.
