puma immobaliser ??

I've had my 09 defender for nearly 2 weeks, its the very basic one without central / remote locking or alarm, i have no key fob with buttons etc, at first when i turned the ignition off i would get a little 2 tone bleep tune and a red light would flash in the dash at the bottom of the tacho, i presume this was telling me the engine was immobalised, perhaps, i'm not sure, the hand book only really covers alarms and fobs and all that complicated stuff, anyway, its stopped doing it, everything works ok still but i'm a bit bothered that my immobaliser (for what it may be worth) isn't working propperly, i called the dealer who, while eager to please didn't have a clue, they said to drop it in but its a bit of a treck so i thought i'd ask here first....cheers Andy
