Puma fine for 30miles/until warm, then loses turbo/power

I have a 2007 Puma 2.4 TDwhatever that picks up great when starting out, power kicks in below 2000rpm, can hear turbo in background etc. But get the engine warm, say after 20miles on the motorway, and we lose all power. A case of taking foot off gas, and not getting anything back when you put it back on foot to the floor. Once off the motorway, even foot flat to the floor, no pull at all until we get to about 3000revs and get some sort of increase. But we end up with a 0-40mph of "after a a good 30seconds/if we're lucky".

Been in at local garage, diagnostics been plugged in when been running for short while and no ECU errors showing. (Also think not hearing (is it?) the EGR doing it's "huffa-huffa-huffa) when the ignition is switched off when we've had the no-power situation.)

Any ideas where this could be heading? ie anyone had the same symptoms and how did you get it diagnosed and what was the required fix?

Cheers all for any ideas. Matt

could be egr...thats when it works, when you take your foot off.

Dont know about landrovers but Ive change 100s of them on transits. Usually there are codes though but it depends what they were being read with?

Transits had a pcm update that has definatly helped.

That all makes sense as a possible. No idea what it was being read with, but probably not the most up to date bit of kit. Will try and get it happening again and turn up at the garage when it's doing its thing. If the reader shows nothing, then off to a dedicated Landy garage, rather than supporting my local one. You have to try these things. Cheers!
