evening all,, does anyone have any ideas on why O why, wen I brake, even the slightest bit, its pulling me to the right. tracking is fine, its only wen i brake,
front discs are drilled & grooved & front calipers were fitted new bout 3yrs ago. bleed brakes, fine, fluid running through ok, pads ok, discs ok,

anyone any ideas??? its doing my fuking head in

disco 300 tdi
terrafirma 3" lift

Tyre pressures and treads?

Panhard rod bushes, hockey stick bushes, so many things it could be .. and one, or all of them might cause or affect steering when braking.

Does it accelerate straight? Though torque reaction can account for some deviation ...

While you're down there check the flexi pipe to it. Get someone to press the brakes whilst you look. If it's gone soft all the effort on that side could be expanding the pipe rather than pushing the caliper pistons.

all panhards hockey, bushes are new, fitted them bout 5 months ago with 3" lift, tyres & treads ok, just tried flexi pipe, seems ok, is it possable I'v stretched it? still standard pipes

did check pads & calipers 1st seemed ok? will have another look at it tomorrow

cheers for your thoughts

Erm Yes! ;) Thats what extended brake hoses are for. I hope you havent taken it off road or tested your "flex"???

If you az, den they is gonna be stretched innit! :D

No really, you will need extended hoses with a 3" lift. So the extra amount of travel in the hose might not be helping but dosent really explain why your pulling one way or the other!

lenghth of Panhard rod now too short due to lift 3inch is quite a bit, will cause problems. Did you fit caster corrected arms with the lift, brake pads could be contaiminated even if you have used brake cleaner, and also as the others have mentioned all the bushes could need changing. If you have stretched the brake lines they could be holding the fluid back and allowing one caliper to get hotter than the other.
check the front and rear axle are inline with each other.

Its most likely seized on the left and therefore only braking on the right .

I would first check out the condition of the guide pins , armed with 100 or higher grit paper or wire wool and copper grease . While your at it check for rust or muck ont the brake piston by peeling back the rubber gaiter . Then open the bleed nipple and press the piston back in using a G clamp .
Then bleed the system .

If it still dunt work , it might be foocked . :D

or something else entirely ;)

I hope you will come back and let us know what it was .
