and did your car perform well..cheers

Yep, I've towed a 2.5 tonne rolls royce on a 600kg home built twin axle trailer.
But towed it with a Cayenne.

Cayenne - ugly, thirsty, but flippin' quick in Turbo S form!!

I've towed a flat bed Brian James with three motorbikes and spare wheels/wet tyres, jerry cans of fuel, etc, so that was probably a train weight (car + trailer + bikes) of 3500-4000kg? Also towed my old bathroom to the tip in a Brenderup and moved 11x solid oak 4m long beams in the same trailer. Oh, and towed our Daimler Dart SP250 in a Brian James Race Shuttle (1000kg car + 700kg trailer + parts?)

Sorry it's not a P38, but it's not far off being an air sprung Classic! Speaking of which, remember to lock out the EAS to stop it dropping at 55mph when towing...

As for towing heavy stuff, I towed a 7.5t tonne truck up hill in the snow last year in my old RRC, no problems at all! :)

Very nice motor cheers for piccys.
The biggist thing i towed was an AA van stuck in a muddy field. The traction control was going mental on mine:)

Not anything bigger than this so far...Ifor 505 trailer with a 14.2 525kg cob pony and a 17hh 675kg TB hoss complete with hay and tack probably weighs 2500kgs so no probs for either of my landy's, however, the trailer cargo does MOVE as its towed!

This Rangey was towing a trailer with 4 or 5 sets of alloy wheels with tyres. Trying to sell them at Frickley 4x4 autojumble in 2008.

He got hopelessly stuck and asked if we could help. So for a laugh we sent a Frontera to pull him off the field :D :D :D

He weren't happy.. as we had about 6 landies there as well. :D

Do you need special insurance for carrying horses? due to their value..

I have my horse and horse trailer insured via my Equine Insurance and special Equine Breakdown Assistance on top of that although I know of people who don't and who tow without the correct licence or an adequate towing vehicle...muppets!

I remember seeing a g regd renault espace towing a twin axle horse trailer with two big arses on view..

recenlty had to tow a caravanning mate who got stuck in his sorento. total rig was:

kia sorento with him, the ball & chain and 3 stroppy teenagers and a bailey senator twin axle with all the gubbins that entailed - guess would be getting close to 3 3/4 tonnes and mine pulled them out of the mud trap across the field and onto the access road. Apart from a couple of times when the TC kicked in - no drama

Speaking of licences and insurance, if your licence was issued after a certain date you do have to take a test to get the appropriate licence to tow a total train weight in excess of 3500kg! Something worth bearing in mind if you've had your licence less than about 10 years and want to tow something big.

Also add that the trailer cannot exceed 750 kgs so its small trailers only,

I have a new style linscene which only allows me to pull 750kilo but you can't exceed 3.5ton so with the weight of the rangie I can tow 600kilo I'm now in the process of doing the trailer test which will then allow me to tow the max weight of vehicle and trailer combine which is like 6.2tonne
