puddle in the lower boot

Hi Everyone,

I have a leak in the boot well, and I had to drill a hole under to let the water out (there are now plugs to remove). it's been raining for weeks and the water came back.

Has someone had this problem ?

Hi,

The water certainly comes from the boot window seal that is no longer good.
It's pretty common to have water in the boot on the freelander.

Commonly known as the fish tank. Good job you haven't got the subwoofer speaker in there.

Do you know if there is a cheap fix ? Or do i need a new seal ?

No cheap fix. A new seal is needed, but the boot door and window also needs accurate adjustment, or the seal will still leak.
Also sometimes the roof rusts through where the top gutter (above the window) is secured, which is also a source of leaks.

I've changed the rear window system in summer, cables and wheels, as it was stuck, and I can see now I haven't centered the window correctly !
I will do it this weekend and let you know
