Evening all.

So 2 months of owning my Rangy and loving it.

We are planning a road trip soon and the rear screens hooked up to the PS2 in the boot work fine. Only problem is there are no headphones and it is not wired into the head unit.

Can any one recommend or suggest what I need please? I was thinking a couple of pairs of Bluetooth headphones and a Bluetooth dongle for the ps2?? Would this work? Or has anyone else done something else and successfully?

Thanks rich

My 98' 4.6 Ltd came with the factory fit dvd screens in the headrest. It has a ps2 under the passenger seat.
When I got the RR none of it worked so my mate had a look cos he's good with electrics and ice n stuff. It turned out to be blown fuses and they fired up when we changed em.
But when he traced the audio back it had a wireless headphone box under the rear carpets. I'm presuming this was aftermarket.
I just changed it for a twin headphone jack so my daughter could just plug her headphones into that.
Don't know if you could use a bluetooth dongle on the ps2. Don't think they have usb ports though so I wouldn't count on it.

Surely there is a headphone jack socket located in the rear of the centre console?
I would run it into a local stealers and talk to there parts dept.
If its factory fitted they will be able to help with information!

yeah thats where mine came out. Just under the carpet behind centre console.
They didn't come with ps2's though did they? I presumed they would have come from the factory with a dvd player.

The PS2 does have a couple of USB ports on the front. There is already one pair of wireless headphones that I found in the cubby hole but they don't work. Maybe flat battery but I still need another pair.. 2 kids!!

Run USB extension cables under carpet and have them pop out under rear seats so that handsets can be plugged in to them.
USB extension cables, available from all computer shops

Try Park My Auto.co.uk When transmissions on the tv went digital I got a tuner and 8 Channel Hard Wired Digital FM Modulator so the sound can be tuned into the car radio from this site, very good communications and worth phoning them if not sure what you need. They also do headphones.

Not sure that the ps2 is compatible with any wireless headsets etc, the only real audio output on them is the two white a red component cable or the small optical out on the back, the 2 ways I could prolly think of is wiring the component cables to the head unit (depends on your head unit but you could make it work ethier way) or get wireless headphone or even small stereo unit that's has headphone slot and plug aux component in cables from the ps2 strait in job done, wireless headphone would be my bet but you gota make sure the base has the aux component style plugs as I said I'm pretty sure ps2's don't support bluetooth USB adapters let alone any really, or just go with what 2.0 hippo said get them a psp each with the new ps vita out they should be going dirt cheap these days, I would dare say I know more about this then the actual range rover :p

It would appear they are infra red headsets... Some on eBay but I can see where the infrared sensors are..
