Right the update so far.........

The insurance company are gonna take 28 days as of NEXT thursday before they will pay out.

I have not been offered a courtesy car and am getting conflicting information from the assessor and insurance company themselves about the what why's and whens.

P*ssed off with going nowhere I have now got my trusty beast up and running, albeit minus ignition lock, dash switches and still with burnt drivers seat. I am gonna fit the new stalk set tomorrow and am trying to find a replacement aftermarket 13" steering wheel before this weekend.

I am also looking for a set of replacement front seats as the passenger one has a broken seat back and the drivers one is burnt. I will wire the knackered one into place and put seat covers over em until I get some new ones. Hopefully it won't rain either cos the wiper park switch is fooked as is the heater motor.

oh well.......at least I will be able to get it dirty again at salisbury on sunday.:p It doesn't like being shiney.:D :D :D

Brilliant attitude, typical British stiff upper lip stuff..... ;)
Don't let the fookers grind you down...

I had my over the phone 'lie detector interview today' with my insurance company. 30 mins of getting the same questions asked over and over in a different way. I was then told to send my documents and keys to the insurance company to prove that I still have them. I told em to get fooked. They still haven't given me a courtesy car and there is no way I am letting my landy get 'held' by them until they pay out and then returned afterwards. The woman says to me that it is standard procedure. I asked her if it was standard procedure to make me wait for 2 weeks to let me have a courtesy car that should be isued within 24 hours. I then reeled off the work that I have done to get it on the road due to the lack of courtesy car. She sounded a bit shocked that I needed it on the road and would go to the extreme of working on it myself. Now I am allowed look after the car myself. OOOOOhhhh fanks very much. They are so fookin generous. I have to ring them back tomorrow to see if I passed the test???????????

It is my first claim in the 15 years I have been driving and paying insurance. And then to top it all I gets this tw*t ring me up asking if I am renewing both my car policies with them at the end of the month cos they haven't heard from me. Let me have a think a minute.....hmmmmm......

Jut read about this ratty..sorry for the sh*t you've had with the attempted theft and all the grief from the legal robbers afterwards.

Interesting about the "interview" though. Gotta get Skype cos they'd never be able to tell owt from that conversation....assuming they could tell what you said! :D

Not got much to offer in the way of parts cos not bin doin' this Landy lark for very long, but can definitely offer my Landy to drive in the opposite direction from yours when you catch the sh*ts that tried stealin' yours and tie 'em between them! ;)

Just an update for those that are interested. The insurance company have finally (7 weeks later) contacted me today to make an offer on my landy. I can have either £2360 and keep it or £3300 and thats it done and dusted. No more landy. I have accepted the £3300. I was tempted to keep it and sell what I could and then scrap the rest. I decided against it though cos I don't really have the time as I am still trying to get my noo one running right in time for the salisbury bbq cos otherwise daft is gonna be walking around the lanes.:p :p :p

Is that a fair price?

Is that a fair price?

It is considering I stripped all the extras off it so it is now a basic 110 300tdi van. :D :D :D
Originally they tried to give me £3000 BUT i had to leave all my extras on it. (about £4000 worth).
I told em to get stuffed. I don't know if they realise that I have gutted it but as far as I am concerned they have offered me the money today for the vehicle as it is today. I took my stuff off and out of it 3 weeks ago and they took it away the next day. I sent them the service history last week and they have valued it on that.
I have bought a replacement landy already but I may have to do the headgasket on it yet. I got it for half what it is worth so even if I have to sling a complete new engine in it it will still be cheap. I just need to get it sorting quick cos of the upcoming bbq.
