I rubbed down my body cappings and treated the pitted rust with Hammerite "Rust Beater" grey primer, however the weather turned awful and I had to put the landy back together before I could topcoat. I primed on Sunday and it's been raining for a couple days. Will the grey primer absorb water or will I be okay to rub down the primer and top coat this weekend? Thanks.

Technical Data Sheet for the product here:

I've no idea whether it will absorb water or not so probably best to assume it might & warm the surface with a hot air gun or similar.
I had a look at that but could see no sign of anything relevant to the primer being porous. I was just curious incase there was a limit to how long you could leave it before top coating. If its a rust inhibitor id hope it wouldnt matter. I'll heat it up before painting. Thanks.

I believe most primers will not prevent water reaching the base metal, have primed cappings before and yes they did rust through the primer before I applied the topcoat. Best get a topcoat on as soon as you can.
