Hi, we own a land rover Defender 90 300tdi 1996. Could anyone give me a rough idea of value for insurance. Its covered 170000 and has been owned by us for the last 18 years. Ita got a few dents but nothing major. It has no rear windows. No modifications and on the original engine. If any one knows of any specialist insurance companies that would help too. Hope this is allowed. Thanks Mags

The NFU insure mine and I’ve an agreed value. Prices will go up and down. Have a look at what other vehicles like yours is worth and add a bit on.

You'll need to do a bit of ringing around. The comparison sites & a lot of the run-of-the-mill insurers don't speak Land Rover :)

I've had my RRC for over 12 years & always used 'Classic' car insurers at reasonable cost. Unfortunately last year I found that many will no longer offer Agreed Value cover because the car is not garaged, despite my living in a relatively low crime area.
Consequently the premium is the lowest I've paid for years, but I'd happily pay more for the protection of AV cover.

Go on ebay and see what the price of hardtop that sell go for. That's the value. Don't make the mistake of thinking what is being asked for is the value, especially now.
