My Power steering is fubar, i have a very noisy bearing, so its going to have to be replaced, as its working off the one belt, it got me thinking, (i have a 97, 2.5 TD BMW engine) will the BMW pump go in to this unit? the reason i ask is, its probably cheaper? and can anyone give me a heads up on how hard/easy this job is to do, and any tips or pitfalls please, i know i need about 2lt of Dextron III to top up when its done, and if anyone has a part number for the pump so i can look around i had this part# from Land Rover (but you know what there like) ERR 4911E

Thanks all

Looking in the parts catologue ERR4911 is right. If you have an E on the end its usually denotes 'exchange'. so I guess you take your old pump in and get your new one at a discounted rate. Hopefully if that is the case you can get the allegiance discount as well and maybe get it cheap?? Worth a try!

Sorted it wasn't the steering pump, the belt was just slack, i had to just renew the pneumatic adjuster as well

And if anyone remembers about my leaky injector (the one with the sensor) i got that sorted too, after waiting 3 weeks for the WRONG injector, they sent me the correct one in 2 days, and gave me an extra discount, so i paid £60 for it, Landy stealer's wanted £250 so that was a massive saving, anyway so far things are looking good and she's running well
