Power Steering pump moaning

Hi Lads,

Just cheking the inevitable, when im turning the whell when driving its groaning, am i right in thinking the pump is on its way out?

Have you checked the fluid level?

Not saying that this is a cure but worth a try before you change the pump, it may be that the power steering fluid is contaminated with either air or water or something so the first thing to try is change the fluid. Although a different car, I had that problem with a V70 Volvo and changing the fluid solved the problem

You're sure the noise isn't coming from the passenger seat? I have a similar problem when I'm tanking up and she's with me.

Sounds more like low fluid or contamination in the fluid. Top it up or change it out then work the steering lock to lock to clear any air.
