I’ve been experienceing random drops in power when on the motorway I’ve got a auto td5. The car struggles to move from around 65 and won’t rev. All of a sudden it will leap into action and is off like a rocket pulling though to 80 if I wanted. It’s mainly happening on hills and when overtaking wagons. I don’t have a diagnostic tool but I’ve read it might be Maf sensor or linked to overboost ? Might I be on the right lines? Does anyone know of any cheap diagnostic tools out there achievable on a budget I’m not needing anything fancy just for peace of mind really to read live data ie coolant temp. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried bypassing the wastegate modulator?
As for cheap diagnostics, never tried one. I have the nanocom.

Cheers

I haven’t but I will give that look at. Yeah I wish I could justify spending on one. Thanks for your tip I’ve something to try.

I’ve been waiting on a genuine part for a week so hopefully it will improve more when it comes. Thanks though you are right.
