Can anyone help diagnose the following?

My daily commute consists of a 20 minute crawl, followed by a 30 minute motorway journey, followed by another 20 minute crawl.

Yesterday, both to and from work, soon after I came off the motorway, and was in traffic, the car wouldn't pull when I accelerated. Putting it in neutral and revving it seemed fine, it was just when it was in gear that it wouldn't pull away, but threatened to stall (most embarassing:eek: )

Sitting by the side of the road for 10 minutes seemed to do the trick, and it was fine then.

The water temp showed normal (it always does)

Any ideas?

Did you do any checks?

Plus what is that avatar? its giving me a sore head ;)

The air filter is probably heat soaked, plus the air intake is split into two intakes, engine bay and from under the wheel arch. Hot air going into a dirty filter will sufficate the engine.

Or if you chipped into the other thread, then take the fuel cap off and go for a drive (CharlesY approach). Although if it was fuel related, it would tend to show itself when engine idles.

yes, it's the judge dredd mobile - not a good copy of the image though!

will check the air filter this weekend - thanks
