power drain

hi all, has anyone els have this problem? when switched off and locked my red light on the auto consol stays on faintly in the park position.it dose not do this in any outher position . it brightens back up when switched on.the battery is now starting to be sluggish in the mornings{second new one in larst 18months].any help would be great,or is the light suposed to stay on faintley? <p38 dt 1998>thanks tom

mines always been on very faint in the "p" position. never really thought it was a fault and my battery only died after 3 weeks stood without being run.
