Hi there,

I have a Range Rover 2.5 DT and the car has started to stool between gear changes, and has a light come up on the dash for a few seconds (which is not in the manual for what it is)(it also comes on before the car starts). Once you have changed gear the car has no power and it has basically stooled...

It also sometimes does it when you are just driving along and take your foot off the accerlater.

It's worse at stooling between the gear changes, 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.. I have noticed the more rev's you have the less likely it does it.

The dash light looks like a pipe with a trangle point on it heading off at 30 degrees, then with 3 small lines coming down to it to make it look like a spark (maybe)? Anyone no what this is?

Help please!!!

Thanks

Thats the diesel injector light. It means you have a fault.

Mine used to do something very similar until I replaced the crank sensor and no. 4 injector. The no. 4 injector has the needle lift sensor in it and these give up the ghost. Without a signal it goes to the crank sensor for rev information. In mne the crank sensor was gone for a while and when the no.4 started acting up it used cut out.
Get your faults read and I'll bet you need a new no. 4 sensor. P38 Spares or some of the other guys carry them.
