Just been reading through some threads in the LZIR section, this one in particular:
https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/urgent-rescue-needed-hebden-bridge.290636/

Would it be worthwhile having a popup/banner, or marquee similar to the twitter feed bar, that fires up in bright red/yellow/whatever when an LZIR is required? It would make it immediately visible to people on the forum and, if it had good information about the location, people would be in a position to respond more quickly?

Just a thought :)

That would be nice, not a clue if it's possible.

Part of the problem on that thread was info being transfered via 2 mobiles before pasting to here and me not being able to easily access the map.

Oh, I wasn't in any way slagging you or others off! :)
Just thinking the banner would be a much quicker 'call to action' method instead of relying on people reading that particular forum.

Definitely possible with this software. Depending on how anal the developer was, could also be targeted only at those in the area where help is required, too.

Oo you calling a slaaaag? :p

Nah I didn't take it like that :)

It's been on my mind a bit because I felt a little helpless at the time.

Talking about it since I could have PMd any of the regulars that were online and asked them to look at the map.

Once we know who's close everything can happen off forum if need be but it's usually true that input on the thread is very helpful.
