I have a turquoise Disco, (as you can no doubt see in my picture), but the paintwork is definitely in need of a bit of polish if it is to last nicely for a few more years. I maintain my other car's paintwork really well; I use a coloured polish on that and it looks as good as the day I bought it. However, I can't find a coloured polish that will be suitable for my Disco. Has anyone else come across this issue? On any car... Anyone found a suitable polish that will bring paintwork back to life a bit? Make it a bit less dull....make it last longer...?

you need to find someone with a machine mop , the polish you can get from bodyshop suppliers, but it aint cheap , prob better off going to a local bodyshop , chatting up a painter, and asking if he will mop your car lol...

Tiff , what year is your vehicle ? I have a 98 D1 that colour . I havent used it for a few weeks but seem to recall seeing a seperate lacquer coat over the colour but I dont pay that much attention to that sort of thing as I am usually too taken up with mechanical problems . I dont know if yours is like that or if it is how that affects the mopping thing ....maybe a shine on your lacquer (if its there at all and I am not imagining it !) is all thats needed . You do know your paint code is on the VIN plate under the bonnet , dont you ....??

the colour on her car is clear over base ye... and a mop will do it the world of good...

 umm... would you laugh lots if i said no?

It's also a 98, but i have no idea about the laquer part... It looks like the paint is faded just under the windows on the doors. And the roof feels rough where it hasn't been washed properly by previous owners...and the bonnet doesn't feel too smooth either.
