I'm not sure yet, there isn't much info re the photo but if the Tracky depot is in the background it'll be Sheffield road somewhere.
Did you work out of Sheff Rd or Shafton Two Gates?

I've been on there just now trying to find a post from WAB about a link I put on earlier on a different forum but I can't find it.

[Edit] Possibly Rawmarsh.

i dont think its upper sheffield road as there was a banking at the rear and the canteen was where buses are parked in the picture. might be shafton, i'll ask my mate who worked at various depots when i see him tomorow.

I live in Shafton but the ridge in the distance that would be above Grimethorpe is behind where the picture is taken from and the pylon isn't there anymore. My guess would be Grimey from where the ridge above the post office is but I don't thing there was a depot so close to Shafton.

Anyway, any guesses about the rangey's? :)

I can't make out reg numbers on my machine but are they brand new '84/5 models with the twin head lights?

We Are Barnsley | News Women Urged To Share Miners' Strike Memories

When yousaid "your machine", I thought you were the driver of one of those Rangies

or bumper mounted spots ?

I'd say they were spots / driving lamps; they look out of line with the headlamps on te left of the pic, and they seem brighter than the headlamps on the one on the right.

I wish! The rangey's [not being a copper round here during the Miners Strike ]:eek::eek: ... I was five round that time ... ;):p

I can't make it out reyt, they look like 'flashing lights' [pre-strobes] but the twin headlight's look "new" [for '84/5].

I've posted on WAB to see if I can find out where the pic was taken and YORVOL is going to have a dig re the bus depot.

;)
