I reckon he means play in the front diff.

its quite normal for there to be quite a bit of play in the diff and transfer box as long as there is no movement in the uni joints the back will be the same if you take the hand brake off

any ideas relating to the judder?? happens when i come to a standstill from around 5/10 miles an hour, not the brakes as it also happens going uphill to a stop using no brakes, dipping the clutch very early seems to help but not eliminate , so i thought maybe prop related
