Hi everyone,
Silly question but I have a clonk when taking up drive after changing gear from the front of my 1995 300tdi.
Whats the easy way to find the play.
I assume its either
*Hub flange
*Hubsplines
*Diff drive flange
*Transfer Drive Flange
Or something nasty lurking inside the front diff??

Could also be several components in the front suspension. Or UJs, or a CV joint.

Front propshaft universal joints are the weakest link in your list and which knock if worn.

The easiest way to find out is in the garage, on the ramp with the four wheels in the air and changing gear while someone does the search.

Thanks guys - but of hunting to do then. I'm sure it's not u/j's or a frame as it sounds like it's coming from the front axle, I'll still check out all our though
