Plastic ball Thingy

I'm guessing its a vacuum reservoir. Its not doing anything at the moment, one pipe is missing, and the other from the inlet has a hole in it.

Do I need it, or can I block the inlet pipe and forget about it?!

Do you have Cruise Control?

If yes, you will need it....
