The picture isnt mine but the nearest i could find on google, but mine has the exposed nipple, it might just explain why she's so sluggish then?:mad:

Thanks Vilguy

so you have a 200 / 300tdi at least though yes?

if you dont have a hose connected from the top of the injection pump to the turbo take off point then yeah thats not going to help :p

Yes a 300tdi, only picked it up a couple of weeks back, ran ok on pick up but then suddenly wouldn't go over 40-45..... Having never owned a Landy iv'e been going through tips on this forum and google, service, lift pump, fuel pump diaphram, timing etc... if it just turns out to be a detatched pipe i'll go mental ;)
Having said that iv'e enjoyed tinkering and getting to know my way around. :):)

its probably still there, but you should check its condition.

take it off the other end as well, blow down it with your finger over the end, or suck .... (whatever you fancy) and see if it leaks. Replace if needed.

Its definitely there as iv'e had the lid off the pump to check the diaphragm, I'll have a root around tonight.

Cheers :):)

OK, having checked, mine has a T piece so is connected to the pump, so what is the exposed nipple for or should it be blanked off?

Cheers

One end of the T should go to the turbo case, the next goes to the wastegate actuator and the last goes to the injection pump. No blanks needed

Happy new year fellas. ..
Having delved a bit deeper the exposed nipple is solid so it's not that... I've checked the condition of all the pipes from turbo and no leaks, I've got a boost gauge coming tomorrow so hopefully that'll expose whether the turbo is knackered, other than that I've run out of ideas .....

but what is it connected too on the turbo to tell it to put in more fuel? it should be connected to the red hose (your pic) controlling the waste gate.

Vilguy,
Here's the actual picture of mine, The arrowed nippled is sealed, The arrowed pipe runs under the turbo and then has a Y piece, one pipe runs to wastegate the other runs to the pump, all pipes have been removed and tested and cleaned since the picture was taken.

That is how it should be. If his is the same. If he holds the engine on half throttle then blips it to full throttle he should see waste gate move. If it does he is getting good boost pressure. If the engine still lacks power maybe the boost fuel pin is tight in the pump or the diaphragm has an hole in it.

ive had that with the fuel pin, needed a good clean out.

Also had the boost needle get stuck and not move up or down.
