Hi Everybody!
I started to look at putting a bulkhead repair panel in place today, and it looks like I need to get some door pillar repair panels as well. Anyone had any experience with them?

And I know the answer should be " get a new bulkhead" but I can't afford one, I haven't the space to strip out the old one, and apart from the edges it seems ok.

How are you at welding...?
If your ok then make em..
If its an older 90 you will get a couple of years out of it till you got the cash and room for a new bulkhead.
Cut n shape a plate that covers what you need to cover then cut old crud out, weld new piece in mig is the best, grind then fill dints in with a bit of filler..

door pillars arent as easy as the above makes it sound, especially if the lower mounting points are rotten - but with a little time and energy

Some lower mounting brackets in my first link Sean;) Maybe not as easy as I put, but definately do-able with basic fabricating skills.

me post was in response to post 2 which kinda gave the impression you can just fold some sheet and stick it all back together, tis a bit more involved - old age makes peeps type slower

Put it this way with my computer skills i found it harder to resize n post pics than making footwell and door post...lol
The only thing a bought was new bolts for hinges..

ohh i will forgive you for your jokes "sean".
i take it it says your a senior member on your status because that you are getting on a bit and i was always told not to cheek my elders so i will forgive the "wise old cracks".
hehe

ohh lol i see wat you meant sean sorry mate...yes it had been standing in the barn for near 3 years...maybe thats why it failed the mot on wipers not cleaning the screen.
:)

I done mine with new door posts. As far as cutting out and welding it was easy. But i'm a welder. As far as a finished job?, i'm not so sure. Wish i had just got another bulkhead now. After market parts and panels are never a satisfactory replacment for original.
