£4.5k? Wow. I hope it looks better from the back or it's at least got super low mileage.

Let me know if you're in the market for any other vehicles, I'll always have one to sell to you :D

late 300 it will be. whats the mileage? any more pics? if your right about only front end, i think you did well.

G

If you think he did well with an R reg then you're more than welcome to buy my Y reg 110 for £4.5k?

I always felt I paid over the odds for mine but it had a lot of the "extras" I would have eventually forked out for and I know the chassis, body and engine are in good shape. Engine starts first time no hassle even after 3 weeks standing in the snow/rain and I've no welding or other feckin about to do which is just as well cos I don't have the knowledge or the gear.

If you're happy and it's just a few bolt on bits to replace, you're laffin! :D

Yeah it's a '97 R 300tdi. 120k miles with FSH, and the rest of it is fairly tidy. It has a few small jobs I want to do to it, but none of them need doing. The chassis is good, the bulkhead is spotless, the engine is sweet. It's been well looked after.

Ghost, your Y reg must be a Td5? I wouldn't give you a tenner for any electronic landy. I don't mean to sound rude but I just don't like the idea of a computer running a vehicle that needs to put up with a rough life. The fact that the export market and military refuse to have it sends me the wrong signals I'm afraid. I wanted a 300Tdi, so I had to pay for it because a lot of them were selling before I got to see them at that price. I assumed it must be reasonable if I was missing them regularly. We do spend a little more around here than you guys up north, don't know why?? We're either richer or more stupid, not sure which!

I got a set of 5 Wolf rims and some Goodyear tyres thrown in, a service, new tailgate straps, they fixed an oil leak for me and done a basic health check. I bought it from a dealer, but sold as seen for cash to get some money off (so I thought!)

what's so brave about showing some common sense ? - he might have paid a bit ott but he's purchased a fine vehicle that he's more than happy with

just incase your unsure, as i guess it's concept your unaware of

A few more pics would make it easier to tell but as it's the last of the 300tdi's I rekon it's worth the money. It looks like it's a van body. If it was a station wagon it would DEFINATELY be worth it. When I was looking for my replacement landy the late 300tdi's were going for around £1500 more than the early TD5's. Hence the vehicle I ended up with.

What's a brave comment? Saying it's in good condition? You don't have to tell me the things that can (and will) go wrong with them - it's a Land Rover, commonly known as the most unreliable vehicle ever built. What I like about it is I can fix it, unlike a Td5 or later model which would have to go away to somewhere expensive for its regular repairs!

I forgot to say in my first post, it's a HCPU. They're like rocking horse turd, or at least have been since I started searching for one! If it was a van body I wouldn't have paid what I did, they're easy to come by.

If you use the quote or multi quote button it narrows down who you're talking to.:)

Ave ya got any more piccies then?

You know what it's like buying used vehicles, you can get one that looks mint but is a bag of crap. Just because the fronts battered doesn't mean it's a bad buy. As said High Capacity Pick-ups are hard to find so they will be a premium over a 90 Station Wagon. Good luck to you, if you like it that's all that matters.
