Picked it up yesterday :)

Picked it up yesterday and amazed just how good it is!

Thanks to really bad M25 traffic was a very very long 5hrs, 218 miles home and cost £45 in diesel (about 38ltrs) so 26MPG but with hours of stop start traffic as well as 70-80 with a couple of accidental 90 (ahem, on private roads of course), I didn't expect any different.

No lag from throttle at all, in fact, for such a heavy beast I was amazed by the way it pulled away from junctions!

Thing is, I'm so impressed with it I'm already considering selling my BMW 640D to buy a disco 4!... hmmmmmm.....

2005 HSE with fantastic history and 121,000 miles.

Just wish I could update the satnav to be a bit more modern but at least it has one.

Think it needs cleaning or new disc as sometimes it says disc read error.

Wouldn't mind retro fitting the fridge

Very nice. With de-tango'd headlights aswell.
Had my '06 3 months now (done 5k miles already & still impressed).

still brings a smile to me everytime i drive it, amazed how quiet and comfortable they are down the motorway

found a slight difference after blanking my egrs and ckeaned the map sensor out, was blocked solid

Weve had a couple of black cars before and swore never again.

Ive noticed since Ive had mine ( 2.5 yrs) a lot more are coming into the hands of enthusiasts, people are starting to realise they are pretty nice cars and are as easy to drive as a normal everyday car.

What year is it? as early motors up to about late 2008 had an issue with oil pumps coming apart causing cambelt to jump ship wrecking the engine

121K miles? I didn't know a Hearse would do so many.

It's not black, it's Adriatic blue just sometimes looks black ish depending on the light

After research I'm reliably told it's more an issue for 2007/2008 models. That early ones were fine but it was the later batch that had used cheaper part and that comes from more than one person and from someone who is a Land Rover engineer who said I didn't need to do mine so effectively he turned down potenital business so someone who can be trusted.

Blue is good that will hide the dirt as well as grey and silver does.

I bought one for mine (06) when doing the cambelt and was well chuffed when i saw it had the new style pump fitted which was dated 2012, saved me a job.
Im a bit suspicous like that and looked at it as pump cheap compared to an engine.

I've heard the same. No mention of my '06 having a new pump when the belts were done & if it makes it to the next belt change i'll change then. Disco3 is a great site for technical info, as much as i hate to promote other sites on here.

after blanking the egrs the engine ran smoother on tick over, also had power climbing up a hill seeing the map sensor was unblocked,

Probably should start a new thread but will ask on here first. Just sat in it for first time in 3 days and played with memory settings & using suspension up and down. When going up it says suspension moving slowly on display.

According to manual this means reservoir low and I don't need to do anything.... I'm assuming when engine has run for a little bit the reservoir fills up and this is normal but how long does it normally take to fill up?

After being sat for three days the suspension hasn't dropped.... I just wanted to set the third button in the remote to entry level mode.

So, upon further google investigation it seems you can only go through the cycle 3 times before it's not happy on these so it's possible that was the issue..... will try again tomorrow when cool to see of that makes a difference as I was playing with it and put it into extended height mode.... cant remember if it was showing the message from the start so hopefully that's all it is

indeed u can't keep cycling them up and down all the time

ref the extended height , u can't manually do that, the car will control all of that , u can only select , access , normal and off road height

u can lock it into access mode, when in access u hold the lever down until the lock light comes up on the lever selector

there is extended and super extended , u can trick it with a jack but in my opinion not worth it , when ur off road if it sense the chassis is grounded it will raise , then raise again

think from the ground to the bottom of the sill it gives the allowance of nearly 17 x inches

Thanks... I was sure after I went up, I went up again.... but maybe I was in access mode and that's why I went up twice then.

Turns out the rear roof blind is missing so got to keep my eyes open for one of them.... probably rarer than hens teeth I'm sure
