pick up power supply for dash cam

just a quick one i was going to fit a dash cam in my 2003 td5 and i need a permanent live, i just wondered if the interia light nr the mirror is permanantly live and if so could i splice into for the dash cam,this could save me some work

In the Defenders there is a permanent live (purple wire) to the interior light.
I presume the load (current required) isn't that high ?
Less than 1Amp and you should be fine.

The purple wire to the interior lamp is live on the D2 as well just dont overload it
