Photochromic wing mirror glass Best place to buy?

Hi all, As I get my head round the new stead I've noticed i need a new wing mirror glass. It's a photochromic glass. I can't seem to buy them any where. Am I going to the main stealers to get my trousers pulled down?

There's at least two on the bay of e.

Change your search terms. There are loads . There are also heated/electric/photochrom/and on and on and on.

Just got mine from the bay. £20 heated, Blue tint and adapter ring.

Type in " range rover p38 mirror glass "

That's what I did. Couldn't see any photo chromic ones.

You could always try island 4x4.

When you eventually buy one....Don't forget to ask for the plastic locator ring!!....sold separately for about £2......you may have the original, but they are usually lost when the glass breaks, and it can be frustrating to find you have a shiny new glass mirror, but can't get it to fit.

Think when you find the electrochromatic mirrors you won't like it, they are close to £200.00 just for the glass from Rimmers. Good luck.

I think it's the glass he wants and there are loads on the bay of e. With brand new replacement glass from the usual suspects starting around £100. Took me approx 30secs to find on the bay and bing took less than that to find from several of the parts people.


Oh and as it's Monday and I'm having one of those days. I know the range rover is a big car but it's not big enough to be classed as a stead

There are loads of mirror glasses but they are not the photo chromic ones. Some are blue tinted but it's the ones for use with the 12 pin electric mirrors.

They should change it to Ripoffs. £96.14 + VAT was the lowest I saw (not including the bay)

There are the ones you are looking for on the bay. As I said before , try changing your search terms.

They are NOT photochromatic they are electrochromatic. Big difference. If you just have blue tinted mirrors they are not electrochromatic. Just because you have 12 pin plugs does not mean they are electrochromatic glasses. Standard adjustable mirrors have a 6 pin plug. Memory mirrors have a 12 pin plug but only 10 of the pins are used. Electrochromatic memory mirrors use all the pins. Just be sure you are not buying something you don't need. If they definitely are electrochromatic fair enough.

Still a little on harsh side price wise. Rimmers are not known for their fair pricing policy.

I agree on both counts but it does support what I said in another thread, about the difference in buying a Range Rover and owning one.

Yep you can't expect to buy what was a £50,000.00 car and repair it at Corsa prices.

Cheers for all the replies. I do have 12 wires but the mirror only has 10 pins. So I guessing I just need one of the blue tinted glasses not the auto dimming ones. Wouldn't of checked the pins without your info guys. Cheers.
