Hi
Im after a clutch bearing release arm and release fork for my FREELANDER 1 1999 2L Diesel (rover engine).

I have replaced the clutch, thrust bearing and slave + Master cylinder, but still the slave cylinder wont apply enough strength to disengage the clutch!!.

When I had the gearbox out, the release arm and fork were removed and regreased as these were seized solid (common problem I know).

My question is I have sourced another gearbox complete with a good arm and release fork from a PG1 Gearbox MG ZS 180. These parts I require look the same, Will they fit??

Im not to worried about the gearbox not fitting as the gearbox is fine on mine, but just want to use the release arm and fork.

What I think I have done is bend the release arm or the forks when trying to free up the original one.

Anyone have knowledge of these parts being interchangeable please.
THANKS GUYS:eek:

most likely just the hydraulics being their usual PITA self, being filled with air bubbles (I'm tempted to try a water/antifreeze mix, instead of brake fluid, in one of my spare hydraulic setups)

But to answer your clutch arm question - I've seen 3 different types so far:

Rover 200/25 cable operated
Rover 400/45 hydraulic
Freelander hydraulic

The freelander slave is mounted on the gearbox side, whilst the 45 has it mounted on the ENGINE side - the arm may well simply need to be spun 180 with the release forks then bolted on to suit... but I've not tried it

Yes the release arm is the same. I'm after a ZS180 gearbox. If you are close to me, I can take it off your hands. I don't need the clutch release arm! You can't use anything else from that box on the Freelander anyway ;)

NODGE.
Thanks for your answer, great stuff. I have purchased it and the release arm and fork are like new, no stick arm here.

Im sure I must of bent my fork or arm when trying to free it up.

Im more than happy for you to give me a drink for the gearbox mate, at least that will cover my fuel money to collect it, problem is I'm on the East Coast.
Essex / Suffolk border mate, Ipswich, Felixstowe or Harwich. Your so far West but directly in line with me we couldn't be more away from each other if we tried.

Saying that, If you want to cover the postage, Ill chuck it on a small pallet for you.

The guy I got it from had 2mths warrantee left on it as he had it changed then wrote off his car. So I know its a good box and its very clean. :p:p:p

Let me know what you think. I can email you over some pictures of it now if it helps
