Hi all,

I'm a newbie, so please bear with me. I'm by no means thick, I'm no mechanic either, but I'll have a bash if it can save me a few squids!

The petrol gauge on my Freebie ES is showing empty when full, and vice versa! Put fuel in, and the fuel gauge goes down instead of up. I got another display unit from a scrappers, installed it, and the fuel gauge reads as it should do, and works fine.

Unfortunately, the mileage on the replacement is about 10k lower than my correct mileage for the vehicle, I have enquired as to getting a company out to correct it, but they want about £80.00, and I would have to drive half way to Liverpool from Manchester for him to do it!

Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to correct the mileage so the replacement unit reads correctly. I don't think there is any way to replace just the fuel gauge from the display, it all looks sealed and soldered.

And don't get me started on the starter motor, which decided to start misbehaving this afternoon. Clatter, clatter, clatter!!!

Why always just after Christmas eh? As if I haven't spent enough! lol.

Thanks in advance.
